What is Dye-VL?
Dye-VL is a module of the Harmony XL Pro system designed to treat pigmented lesions. It is a highly customizable, safe, and effective laser skin tratment.
How Does Dye-VL Work?
Dye-VL works using a narrow band of pulsating light, and it is considered a technologically advanced type of IPL laser. IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light. It also can be called Broad Base Light. This narrow band of pulsating light means that the treatment is incredibly precise, allowing the technician to treat the exact area of the lesion or blood vessel responsible for the irregular skin tone without damaging any surrounding skin. Face First also prefers this precise technology because it makes it easier to target hard-to-reach areas where other laser treatments were more difficult to control. This precision makes it a safer treatment compared to other laser options for patients with pigmented lesions. Like other types of IPL lasers, the treatment works by damaging melanin, or pigment, in the skin to reduce darkened areas.
In addition, the treatment uses IN-Motion technology to enhance your comfort throughout the treatment. This essentially means that the heat from the laser is applied more gradually compared to other treatments, which results in a noticeably more comfortable procedure.
What Dye-VL Be Used For?
Dye-VL is intended for vascular lesions, which are visible abnormalities in the skin commonly referred to as birthmarks. Several types of vascular lesions or birthmarks are treatable using Dye-VL, including:
- Port wine stains (a deep red or maroon mark on the skin)
- Rosacea (Persistent redness, resulting in a flushed appearance)
- Hemangioma (also called a “strawberry mark”)
- Venous malformation (abnormally developed veins which may appear purple, red, or blue on the skin)
